Seaside Florida is a 30A beach destination like no other and is a model for professionals in the fields of architecture, land planning, engineering and development. There are just over 300 homes within Seaside, and a fortunate few have the privilege of ownership in the the town that is an Architectural and urban development planning trailblazer. Seaside is considered to be the creation that challenged architects, developers, home builders and land planners in the United States to rethink the way people spend their time. As a successful Live, Work, and Play development, Seaside is touted as the first New Urbanist Community and is credited with inspiring Mixed-use, walkable developments throughout the United States and the World.
Visionary developer Robert Davis had the foresight and follow through to create an 80 Acre development on 30A that has all of the elements that people desire in their daily lives including places to live, work, and play, with no need to ever leave the property, such as small towns evolved throughout history. Seaside however was not the evolution of a small town, but completely and competently planned to include all that is part of life at the beach without ever having to leave the premises. Developed in the early 1980’s Seaside has won many major architectural, planning, and design awards and is often considered the trailblazer in the Live, Work, Play New Urbanism movement that has been growing and spreading throughout the country.
